About the course
This 1 day training course aims to improve the understanding of the role of guards and to ensure the
standardized practices and procedural responses that keep sites and people safe are followed in both
standard and emergency situations.
What does the workshop cover?
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Specify the guards role
- Describe how Image and acceptance & Interpersonal communication is important to a guards role
- Describe what the threats are to you and your work & identify ways to reduce the threat
- Describe the correct VHF Communications Procedures in the context of guard stations
- Conduct site roving patrol
- Display the guest and visitor procedures
- Display the correct procedure of searching people, property and vehicles
- Describe the procedure for handover to another security guard
- Record and log people and vehicles
- Describe or display what to do in a basic emergency situation (fire, accident, incident, intruder etc)
