Stress is part of the job and to certain extent stress is positive and motivating. However, in the long run, living and working in stressful and demanding circumstances can have a detrimental impact on our physical health as well as on our professional and personal lives, and in some cases, can lead to burnout.
Managers play a key role in assessing areas of risk in their team and are responsible for providing adequate support. At the same time, managers are at risk themselves. The aim of this training is to equip managers and HR professionals with the knowledge and skills how to boost personal and organisational resilience and prevent burnout.
Stress and Personal Resilience Training for Managers will offer opportunity to get insight into the nature of stress, its symptoms and common human reactions to crisis. It will help managers to understand the dynamics and the impact of various forms of stress and will provide them with tools to effectively manage and reduce stress within themselves and their staff.
By the end of the course you will be able:
Understand the nature of stress;
Identify how to recognise stress and burnout symptoms within yourself, your team or workplace;
Develop strategies to effectively manage and reduce stress within yourself and/or your staff;
Identify how to prevent an unhealthy and stressful workplace;
Understand what is meant by the term personal resilience;
Have an overview of the five themes for personal resilience and be able to use them to review resilience factors and support needs;
Develop the capacity to understand resilience factors as a risk assessment marker, and when appropriate, make referrals for additional support.
